The Team system that supports the LIFE business has become the Premier bench mark for developing compensated communities. The LIFE business products can be used for personal and professional development but when it comes to building compensated communities, the Team system is second to none. We see top leaders like Orrin Woodward developing a leadership system in this new industry and one of his secrets to building a leadership system is reading.
Within this system lies what is known as the ‘Top Five’ books. The top five books might be described as the secret weapon. These are the top five selected books to help a person get off to a fast start in building their business. When someone wants to learn about creating an income from developing a compensated community there is a science (structure) side and an art (leadership) side to the business. Power Players are mastering the basics of both the science and the art side of the business. The top five books are integral to gowing your business. Best selling author Orrin Woodward said, "He noticed a connection with leaders and readers."
No matter how often I re read the top five books I always feel a revelation of ideas that I can apply. After all, people are the most important part of what we do. The top five books include what many feel are the best selection of books in the area of people skills or what is known as the soft side, or art side of the business. They are: The Magic of Thinking Big, How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling, How the Win Friends and Influence People, How to Have Confidence and Power in Dealing With People, and Personality Plus. These ‘Top Five ‘ are the Team system secret weapons.
Here is an example of some of my notes I took recently from ‘How I Raised Myself from Failure to Success in Selling' while I was flying to a meeting. Keep in mind that every time I re read the top five books I have underlined something different. The information seems to grow with where I have grown. It’s like the information supplies what I need exactly when I need it.
- Enthusiasm comes from being inspired.
- Measure progress. PDCA every 30 days.
- Training materials like CD’s and Seminars create self confidence.
- Take at least one day to plan your priorities for the week.
- Dedicate the conversation with your customer to finding out what they want.
- Ask questions. “ In addition to that why do you say that?” It now becomes their idea.
- Discuss your main point… briefly.
- Arouse fear or desire. These emotions are the motivation to do something.
- Use witnesses who have done it in stories.
- The best source of NEW business is NEW customers.
All great teams master the basics. Make it fun to review your notes every time you re read any of the top five books to see what you thought was important at that time. If you want to master the information put it into effect immediately. The top leaders make it a habit of reading the top five books every year. You can see the connection between the top five books and the most important aspect of community building, relationships. This is the strength that holds large organizations together. What great revelations have you learned from the top five books ? Remember that as the LIFE business continues to explode on the scene it is important that we do not leave the basics. The LIFE business’s unprecedented growth comes from the Team training system and the core of that training is called the ‘The Top Five’! Give a high five to the top five, our secret weapon. God Bless, George Guzzardo
