I grew up in the inner city of Chicago with not much money but a belief in the American Dream. Back in the day the American Dream was alive and well, if you had guts. I first heard the saying, “It takes gust to leave the ruts” while attending a business meeting with top leadership expert Orrin Woodward. It would also help if you had a plan. I got a plan when I began to put the LIFE business products into action using the Team system. From that time I developed a passion to learn about historical leadership. Thomas Jefferson wrote, “The most important Bill in our code is that for the diffusion of knowledge among the people. No other sure foundation can be devised for the preservation of freedom and happiness.” With the expectation and use of Entitlements in our country at an all time high and net worth per family dropping for the first time in the history of America, it’s time to apply the information found in the LIFE business products. Under the ‘Finances’ category is LIFE 1, ’13 Resolutions for LIFE’, LLR 443, ‘Camel in the Tent’, LLR 484, ‘Economics 101’ and LLR 498 ‘Economics 201’. Equally important is the understanding of the economy and freedom. Reading ‘Leadership and Liberty', by best selling authors, Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady is critical to gain a foundational understanding of how freedom and the economy are linked. The recent book ‘1913’ by Oliver DeMille has opened the eyes of many of us in the area of the economy and freedom. From that we learned about the Supreme Court in 1936, under the U.S. v Butler who decided in complete defiance of the original intent of the founding fathers to give Congress a blank check to spend taxpayer’s money for whatever purposes it chooses. “It results that the power of Congress to authorize expenditure of public moneys for public purposes is not limited by the direct grants of legislative power found in the Constitution.” Not limited by the legislative power found in the Constitution?!!
Is America losing its system of ‘Meritocracy’ for one of ‘Entitlements’? Once, people in this country had to get ahead with hard work, saving, and smart investing. How did we ever get by as a nation during the first one hundred years where there was no income tax and the overall tax burden was barely 10 %. While the population falls for the biggest propaganda machine in the world, the ‘big three news networks’, the progressives slowly and subtly rewrite our Constitution. The public no longer has an understanding of the principles that our country was founded upon as a result of the loss of a solid historical education. We are now the prey. We lean toward entitlements while Russia now gets more revenue with a 13% flat tax than their old system did with rates well above 50%. The great John F. Kennedy said, “The best way to grow the economy is to reduce the burden on private income and the deterrents to private initiative which are imposed by our present tax system. He was obviously a good student of the founding fathers and Thomas Jefferson, who wrote, “We must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or perfusion and servitude.”
The ability to buy votes is nothing new through civilization. But the results are the same. People vote for security and fall into bondage. Lets not lose the wisdom of founder James Madison who wrote, “I go on the principle that a public debt is a public curse.” Jefferson wrote, “I place the economy among the first and most important of republican virtues, and public debt as the greatest of the dangers to be feared.”
IF liberty and freedom are to be preserved, it will be as John Adams wrote, “Let us dare to read, think, speak and write.” It’s time to spread the LIFE products through the concept known as ‘compensated communities’ using the Team system. We don’t’ need a hand out. We need a hand up. It takes guts to leave the ruts, and some new information. God Bless, George Guzzardo
