It’s not surprising that the LIFE community is thriving. Since top leadership experts Orrin Woodward and Chris Brady opened the LIFE business on November 1st, people are feeling a sense of belonging. Perhaps a need for interconnecting exists among people now more than ever before. Despite all of the new technology that binds the human race together, many people feel more alone. Robert Nisbit in his book, ‘Quest for Community’ writes, “In our culture with its cherished values of individual self – reliance and self – sufficiency, surrounded by relationships which become ever more impersonal, there is a rising tendency toward increased feeling of aloneness and insecurity. Because the basic moral values of our culture come to seem more and more inaccessible, because the line between right and wrong, good and bad, just and unjust, becomes ever less distinct, there is produced a kind of cultural “set” toward unease and chronic disquiet.” Studies indicate community disorganization, family disorganization, personality disintegration, and global social strife, together, cast off the ties that bring mankind together. Will community be denied?
There is a sense of fulfillment that comes the first time you attend a meeting with members of the LIFE community. It’s not surprising to see the numbers of people attending a LIFE meeting when you feel the gratitude that comes from sharing common values. A sense of trust is developed that comes from the transparency that develops from sharing feelings. We don't need to live in an era of social distrust any longer. Robert Putnam in his book ‘Bowling Alone’ says, “The touchstone of social capital is the principle of general reciprocity.” “Trusting communities have a measurable economic advantage and becomes an asset.” I’ve had my breath taken away by how fast the LIFE CD’s have impacted people’s lives in a positive way. Listening to information on how to improve in the area of relationships or finance for example is revealing immediate results. Sharing testimonies with others about how we use the information to make a difference in certain areas of our lives is impactful. For many people, long sought after solutions to targeted problem areas in their lives are being provided. The fact that progress is made in meaningful areas of life like Faith, Family, or Finances compels people to want to share what they have learned with others.
Aloneness and apathy need not be the norm in the world today. Listening and sharing motivates people to develop a hunger to learn ways to improve their lives and then share what they learned with others. People are inspired to read and learn more and this is making big differences in their lives and they want to pass that on. That is the foundation of community. From there you will know that you are not alone in LIFE. God Bless, George Guzzardo
